Well, 2 weeks ago, I got a phone call from MO4 Egypt inviting me to a very special culinary experience in Zamalek's Cairo Marriott under the name "Kitchen Confidential". They asked for my address to send a special invitation for the event. Like every other invitation, I expected a simple card, but when I received it I was surprised. In the above picture, that was the invitation and it included: A vintage tray, steak board, chocolate, hand made fusilli pasta and an awesome
card! Yes, I felt very special and intrigued to attend this event
By the time it was the event date, we were contacted and asked to head at the Nile's main entrance and we'll be welcomed by Marriott's Chefs and will lead us to the way. We were sent to a fancy ball room with high tables where 20 Egyptian food bloggers and foodies gathered for this event. High tables had some snacks on them and we were showered by drinks till everyone came.
Something else happened, they got us AWESOME aprons with our names/handles on it! (Below is my Serious Foods EG apron!
Not to mention how organized MO4 Team was (Specially those who showed up: Summer Nazif, Kristina) and from Marriott's side, Ghada Khalek Marriott's Marketing Manager and her team!
THEN, we went for a group photo and was taken straight to the amazing Kitchen. Of course we had to follow their health and safety instructions and wore hair caps and shoe covers in order to keep their environment clean. We found ourselves inside an awesome big kitchen (Which we found out that this was the small kitchen that feeds up to 200 people) and was introduced to the Argentinian head chef Marcello. He is a very nice guy, very informative and passionate about food!
He took us for a tour inside the kitchen then told us that we are FREE to do whatever we want in the kitchen and of course, EAT!
PS: We got to know some awesome secret tips and ingredients exclusive for us and we learned a lot about some cooking techniques!
Below are the foods I tried:
Cold bar that had a selection of awesome greens, ceviches, qinuoa salads and awesome Caprese Salad |
